VINCENT BOUCHARD

Vincent Bouchard is the founder and owner of Bouchard Cooperages and was born in Beaune, Burgundy where he is preceded by eight generations of French Winemakers.

During his childhood, he would work alongside his father, co-director of the Bouchard Père et Fils winery in Beaune, on the family's 200 acres of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. But all school holidays were spent working in the vast family-owned Center of France oak forests in Burgundy, Nevers, Allier, and the Vosges.

Following Robert Mondavi’s advice to move to California and work alongside him, Vincent soon embarked into a journey where he would be importing barrels into North America, South America, Italy, Greece, Portugal, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Vincent currently resides with his wife Kay Bouchard in California's Napa Valley. When he is away from the action at Bouchard Cooperages, Vincent is in Italy selling barrels or is gearing up for harvest at his winery in Portugal’s Douro Valley; Quinta do Tedo.
