Vincent Bouchard's passion for wine and wood is inherent, as he is preceded by eight generations of French winemakers. During his childhood, he would work alongside his father, co-director of the Bouchard Pere et Fils winery in Beaune, on the family's 200 acres of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards.
All school holidays were spent working in the vast family-owned forests in Burgundy, Nevers, Allier, and Vosges. Led by his grandfather and two older brothers he would walk for miles to evaluate trees for the anticipated oak harvest. Today, Vincent works with five cooperages and an oak chip purveyor as a worldwide exporter. Vincent is also the owner of Quinta do Tedo, a remarkable producer of port and wine from the Duoro region of Portugal. |
